DOs and DON’Ts to look your best.
DO: quit listening to what society says you can’t wear and start focusing on what you can. Who cares that the fashion industry thinks anyone over a size 2 is “curvy?”
DON’T: fall for the myth that you can’t wear horizontal stripes. All you need to do is break up the pattern a bit with a jacket or even colored pants.
DO: dress for your body shape. A rectangular shape will need to add shape with clothing. Those with an hourglass figure will want to show that off while a pear shape will want to add balance.
DON’T: always fall for the latest trend. Wear what works best for you! Classic and timeless are never out of style! (But if trendy is your thing, go for it!)
DO: show off your favorite assets! If you are proud of it, show it!
DON’T: feel like you have to wear black all the time to “hide.” Sure, it can be slimming, but why go through life dressing dull?DO: learn how to use color to your advantage. No only is it bold and cheery, it can be used to highlight your best features.
DON’T: forget to use accessories to stay on-trend. Jewelry, purses, and scarves go a long way in making an outfit complete.
DO: make sure you make use of the proper undergarments. Building a strong foundation for your ensemble goes a long way. Well-fitted bras and undies will help your clothes lay better which means you will be more confident.
DON’T: wear baggy clothes. It makes you appear shapeless and messy while hiding your best assets.
DO: wear form-fitting clothing. They actually emphasize your figure.
DON’T: forget to stick to smaller patterns. Bold prints are all the rage right now so look for sparse and small to flatter your figure.
DO: wear skirts! From A-line to pencil to skater style, skirts are always a great choice.
DO: find a flattering jean and buy a couple pairs. A boot cut jean will lengthen your look and a skinny jean will hug those curves in all the right places.
